Abu Dhabi – The tenth World Urban Forum will be held in Abu Dhabi in February 2020. Urban stakeholders from the Arab region will be highlighted at the event.

The Tenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF10) will be held in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, from February 8-13, 2020. Registration is now open for delegates to attend, as are applications for events and the "Urban Expo". People are encouraged to register early for the event.

As the first Arab city to host a World Urban Forum, efforts are being made to raise the profile of urban stakeholders from the region. According to a UN-Habitat press release, recent Arab urbanism offers lessons in inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable human settlements for all.

Culture, creativity and innovation will be at the centre of the global conversation about the liveability, vitality and sustainability of cities at WUF10.

“While technology shapes the invisible infrastructure of smart cities, culture and creativity are necessary to protect the quirkiness that gives cities their own character that connects and inspires us. At WUF10, culture will be positioned as a key driver for urban sustainability and a strategic asset for creating cities that are more inclusive, innovative and sustainable,” according to a UN-Habitat press release.

The World Urban Forum was established in 2001 by the UN to examine rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies, climate change and policies. It has now become the world’s premier conference on managing growing towns and cities.
